Upcoming Speaking Events
As spring is springing, you will find me emerging into this new world of public speaking, direct from my living room to yours! With Covid-19 event restrictions in place for a full year now, event organizers are moving towards ways to bring people together digitally and I have a couple of conference speaking gigs this month you may want to check out.
The Moving Trans History Forward Conference launched today and carries on throughout the weekend. I will be presenting at 8:15am on Friday, March 12 on the role of the law, legal activism and access to gender affirming care. This presentation was co-created with barbara findlay, but extenuating circumstances may prevent her from co-presenting with me. I hope you will join me to hear more about our perspectives on these pressing issues. You can find the conference here: https://www.uvic.ca/mthf2021/
Later this month I will be one of the keynote presenters at Concordia Communications Undergraduate Academic Conference, based in Montreal. The conference theme is GLITCH! and I will be speaking to intersections of power, access, justice and equity. You can follow the conference on Instagram, and tune in live for the free event on March 27th.
I have also been busy crafting a digital world on emergent platform Topia.io and am very interested in collaborating with other facilitators, knowledge holders, and event producers in innovating social gatherings and knowledge exchange opportunities on this platform to suit the needs of our socially distant world. My world is still by direct invite only, but if you want to connect with me and explore some of what I have been working on, send me an email and we can meet up ‘in world’ to hatch something exciting.
