Updated Events!

Hello kind internet friends,
I know I have not been doing the best job keeping things up to date here on the website front- I have been as trapped in the dopamine & engagement mines as the masses, but am often annoyed & discouraged by the ways that algorithm driven platforms that have the user reach are also coded in such a way that my work as a queer, trans, neurodivergent, widow, sex witch & facilitator stays hidden from view of the users I really need to reach.

I recently listened to this talk by Cory Doctorow at Defcon talking about the enshittification of the internet, and really appreciated the ways that he explained the dynamic between tech companies, individual users, and business clients. It reminded me that while much of the contemporary internet2.0 is hostile to what I do, that I also have the infrastructure and tech skills to meet folks outside of the metaverseTM.

As I had been thinking that, and pondering what sorts of rebranding, updating etc may be in order here on the good ol’ dot com, I also got a message from someone who had found their way here from a listing for “This is My Body: Resurrecting Self-Sovereignty, Embodiment & Pleasure” and wanted to point out that I had a misdirected link on my resource page [which, yes, also needs an update]. Getting this email was meaningful, as most of the time, the screaming into the void feeling of posting here has been a part of what has kept me from doing it as often as I do over on socials where the likes and comments tell me that SOMEONE saw it, even when I know that the numbers are WAY lower than they should be. So thank you, and let it be known, comments, emails, shares etc of the content here is greatly appreciated and will help serve the task of keeping me posting things here with more consistency.

On the note of consistency, I have started a new monthly event. It’s called STICC [soft touch intimate craft crossover] and it brings a craft practice and an erotic embodiment tool or practice together in a cozy small group online session on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month. The first one happened this week and brought together the crafting practice of needle felting and the somatic sex education tool of genital mapping. I just posted the details of the October and November events to the ticket portals on eventbrite and also into the event calendar here on this website.

If you pop over to that events list, you will see 2 other very exciting course announcements.

Embodied Grief Literacy for Touch Professionals is an 8 week collaboration with my beloved collaborator from Beloved Coaching, Jess DeVries. It’s been crafted especially for folks who work with bodies, and specifically, the whole, erotic body to skill up around holding grief. It’s been approved as an elective by the ISSE, but practitioners from a wide variety of lineages, modalities and professions are welcome.

This is My Body: Resurrecting Self-Sovereignty, Embodiment & Pleasure is a 3 part series that is being sponsored by Open Way Church and welcomes folks with a background in the Christian church tradition (regardless of your current relationship to any church institution or faith practice or not). As former church girls, Jess & I turn back to the places that we came from, holding the door open for others to follow us into the liberation we have found and learned to cultivate as professional sex & embodiment coaches; in the way that is just right for your body, sexuality, and relationship to the divine.

Last note I will leave on is that I am also working on completing my course work for Core Course 3 at the ISSE and will be seeking individuals to play practice client for some of my assignments. If you are interested in this [especially if you are local or will be in Victoria in the next couple of months], please reach out by email to softtouchbodies@gmail.com

  1. Oh yeah, comments and replys also exist outside the metaverseTM. I love to read about all the exciting things that you are doing and learning and teaching. Congratulations on this updating task!
